In terms of an effective website, one of the key factors you should consider is the User Experience, commonly known as UX. But what exactly is UX and why is it so key to a website’s success?
In this page, we’ll give you a short summary of what UX is, why it is so important, how UX web design works and also share a little of our process in terms of considering UX in our web design. We’ve designed for sites across a wide range of industries and always ensure that we consider the ideal user journey for each client.
Why is UX so important?
Given how hard it is to get users onto your site in such a crowded online marketplace, it’s vital that you make a good first impression with as many visitors as possible.
There are many ways to do this, from the visual quality of your site design, to your lead messaging, to the overall power of your brand itself, but a key complement to all of these factors is the User Experience, or UX, offered by your site. This is all about making the user’s journey through the site as clear and enjoyable as possible; responsive design, clear calls to action, strategic internal linking and a range of other factors which help guide the user.
What is UX-focused
The beauty of good UX web design is that it doesn’t have to take away from the visual quality, or the lead messaging, of a website in any way. If anything, good UX only accentuates these qualities.
Good UX-focused design considers each and every factor related to a user’s journey through a site, from the size of different elements on a page, the colours of buttons, any rollover effects as a user runs their mouse, trackpad or finger across a page, as well as factors such as animations and autoplay videos.
The best UX web design also understands that a one-size-fits-all approach across different user platforms is no longer good enough to cut it if you want to engage your audience as effectively as possible. You’ll also want to consider how the UX of your site may operate a little differently between desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile.
In short, if the quality of User Experience is the difference between a visitor clicking away from your site within seconds, or staying on your site long enough to become a customer/client/subscriber, it really is worth getting it right.
How do we design
our sites for UX?
UX web design is a key area of expertise for our team, with the ability to offer a personalised service from site to site and even platform to platform. We’ll be able to sit down with you, identify your target audience/s and then factor that insight into providing the ideal user journey for those target users.
It goes without saying that each and every one of our web design projects looks great, but allied with that signature visual style is a really intuitive set of design principles that gives your site smart and highly responsive UX design.
